xx. When You're Gone. The pieces of my heart are missing you
A paint wandered aimlessly through the oaken forest, a soft breeze stirred his rich brown mane, and disturbed the white hairs in is cascading tail. As usually, a slightly longer piece of mane hair fell over his eyes, he shook his head lightly tossing it to the side. His hoof steps were light, but a soft crunch could still be herd as the came down, again and again. He had just wanted to get away from his herd for just a little while, have time to think on his own, as leadership was a very time consuming job. He sighed and stopped, he only wanted to recollect his thoughts, but he knew where they were going to lead.
xx. When You're Gone The face I came to know is missing too
His long face looked up to the sky as light filtered in through the piney branches. Light fluffy clouds trailed across the sky, he watched as they spread and two detatched from the main cloud. He looked down quickly, his eyes hard. Starting up an even pace again, he tried to ignore his aching heart, which pained him so much at times, yet seemed so little when he was with the herd. I can't forget them. He thought to himself, he didn't know wether he wanted to or not, but it was a simply fact of the matter; he couldn't. He trained his mind to the simple rise and fall of his hooves, hoping to let the memories fall away. Rise, fall, rise, fall. Brook's frenzied face appeared in his mind, he could hear wolves snarling in the back of his mind. He snorted wildly and the image faded away, his pace quickened knowing what would come next. Sure enough, flames roared in his mind, a long high pitched scream tore the air as Feather slowly died. This time, Hawk had sped to a near gallop. He raced through the forest recklessly, just barely missing several trees. His mane and tail were flying, colorfuly banners whipping in the wind, his eyes were wide and full of fear and pain. After what seemed like hours, he slowed, and then nearly stopped all together. Sweat dripped down his face, his sides heaving.
[Are you kidding? It's a lot longer than I am used to!]
xx. Everytime I call for help xx. My every road leads to you
A slender, gray femme walked through the woods, at a listless pace. Her nostrils drank in the air lightly, as her placid pace carried her through the terrain. Much like a certain soul that was nearby, she too was drifting into deep thoughts... complications with her mother, and of her brother, Thunder, whom she had never met. Was he like her? Wild, and reckless, wishing to truly spread his wings and soar? But Silver gave a slight shake of her mane as she continued walking, the motion completely to her own self. Thunder is a colt. And may someday walk as a free loner, or a stallion of a herd. Unlike I. She gave a slight sigh of frustration. Life for a lone mare was almost unthinkable; only the bravest and stone cold ventured for it. Silver wanted her freedom completely; to trash the order of the herd when she felt it... but of course Herd Law intervened with this fancy. But no matter how much the wind whispered her name, or the gently rolling slopes of what lied beyond enticed her, Silver knew that deep inside her heart, she would not forsake the companionship Sunrise herd, nor Hawk. The silver touched femme gave a short look around, as she came to a barren spot in the woods. But before she could react, a great crashing noise aroused her. Her eyes widened, trying to figure what the creator of the sound could be. After a few moments Silver decided it as indeed a fellow member of Sunrise herd, confirming it by the drift of scent that rolled through. With a sudden flash, she charged forward, aiming her body at the departing sound. Silver's leg's unrolled, pounding the ground in rhythm. Her head bobbled with each stride, her hooves lashing out. After a few minutes of a chase, the sound was gone, and the only noise of the forest was her own thundering hooves. Silver gave a short snort, and slowed as well, tasting the air again. Hawk? she thought questioningly. Her stride was a brisk trot as she continued forward, and quite soon enough, the familiar form of her Leader could be seen standing, his sides heaving. How long has he been running? a fluttering thought came to Silver. With regular placed steps, she came forward, gently calling out his name. "Hawk?"
xx. All the words I need to hear to always get me through the day
Hawk's brown laden ear swiveled at the sound of a lilting voice. He turned to find the striking silver mare watching him. A sudden fear struck him, How long has she been watching me? He brushed away the nightmare thought and took a deep breath. His life pulse slowed until it was almost normal. He nodded his head in greeting, 'Hello, Silver.' He snorted shaking his head, flinging his mane into the wind. Whispers of his hallucinations still haunted his mind, as he met Silver's gaze. His emotions were a turbulence in him, he didn't know wether he was relieved to see a kind face, or wether hate pranced around his mind bitterly. Either way, he wouldn't let that interfere with his duties and friendships.
A gentle breeze sifted through the forest, bringing his gaze toward's the tree tops. The swayed slightly in the wind, as if greeting an oncoming storm. In the distance he heard the sharp cry of a hawk as it enjoyed it's high flying freedom on the winds of the sky. If only that could be me. He thought bitterly, training his gaze on the hawk till it disappeared from his sight beyond his land. Shaking his head slightly, as if shooing a fly, he looked back down at Silver. Realizing he had been distracted, he snorted almost inaudibly and brought his hoof up, and placed it back down lightly, telling her to go on, almost like an apology.
xx. You cannot be read from your gaze. xx. To I, it never ceases to amaze.
Silver's hooves stopped, as she was only a length from her Leader. Her senses picked up a slight hint of unease about him, but it vanished a second later, as he spoke. She gave a curious snort, that was almost inaudible over the gentle breeze, that continued to shift her mane, even after her frame had ceased galloping. Her eyes searched his, before Hawk moved his gaze to the trees. Silver had always been an easy horse to read; but her Leader puzzled her. His eyes had held nothing but a gaze; nothing to hint of what was going on in his mind. "What brings you out here?" Silver finally asked, after a paused moment or two. A stallion hardly roamed from his herd; and though the herds did not have word of a lone stallion wandering, there was always a chance that some young male would come to steal a herd that was not theirs. She gave Hawk a quizzical look, one of her famous, as she awaited an explanation. Moonlight danced on her coat, bouncing off in ever which way. The breeze carried the slightest suggestion of a storm; but it was miles off for now.
Hawk met her eyes evenly, knowing she was probably worried because as she thought that very moment, Lead Stallions don't usually stray from thier herd. "I saw a fox, so I chased out of the territory" His words slipped easily out of his maw like honey-coated lyrics. He winced emotionally, he had a talent for lying, and making it belieable. To him, it was both a blessing and a curse. So far, it hadn't gotten him in any trouble but he knew it was only a matter of time... A fly landed on his pelt and started to prickle into his skin, snorting slightly he flicked his white and brown tail, sending the fly back into the air. His ears twitched and swiveled as the obnoxious buzzing grew faint as it flew farther away. And good ridiance He thought to himself, stamping his foot lightly.

[Hey, this post is not far behind! For some reason I can't think right now...]
xx. Show me what it's like xx. To be the last one s t a n d i n g
Silver bobbed her head slightly, accepting his answer easily. She had never been one to look into things, words, or actions... now was no different. She missed the strange sound that pricked his voice, as it usually does when one is hiding the truth. Her gaze softened, and she visibly relaxed. Truth be told, Silver had been quite uptight as she had heard Hawk's bolt through the woods. "Then all is well?" she neighed softly. Silver's view switched slightly, as it trailed the departing fly. If she could have two wishes, all flies ceasing to exist would be the second. Her first wish; was easily guessed. The breeze was growing a bit stronger, sending an almost inaudible sound whizzing through the ambiance. Her thin coat did not shield well against it, sending a slight chill through her body. But Silver had no reaction to this, for she was used to the blinding snow of the mountains, when it decided to descend. Silver turned back to Hawk, awaiting a confirmation of peace.

xx. I've never felt this way before Everything that I do
Hawk paused only a moment, delving deep into his thoughts. He felt guilty every time he lied to one of his pack. But how could he explain the truth? How could he put his feeling's to words when he didn't even know where his own heart lay? He met her gaze steadily and nodded his deep brown head, "All is well." He amended. He glanced around smelling the wind, his eyes were filled with slightly worry as the breeze grew a little stronger. Frozen snow was on the wind, he could smell it. Not more snow... He pleaded to himself, thinking they already had enough. "Snow is on it's way." He commented lightly, curious to what Silver thought of it.
My brain is full of worry about school, so I' sorry if it's short. ^-^

[Perhaps a short RP will suffice as well as a long one? Sometimes a few words can express as well as many. Lol, listen to da wisdom!!]
xx. How many places xx. Does your heart lie?
Silver gave a small, grateful snort as Hawk reassured her that the fox was gone. Even an adult fox was no match for a well trained horse, for Silver wasn't fearing the fox against her own safety; it was the colts and fillies of the herd she worried about. Although the herd did stay close indeed, sometimes all a fox needed was to attack the slowest young one of the herd, when it was a mere twenty lengths from the rest of the bunch. Silver's ears flicked slightly at the Stallion's words. She in fact did agree; the slow whispers of the wind, and the small shivers that flowed through her warm body confirmed the statement. Winter was approaching fast, though visible signs had not come into effect. Soon, it would once again be time to struggle through the season. The young horses enjoyed winter; snow was exciting and the day filled with the new things they had never known. But the adults of the herd knew better. Winter was a test, and a time of harsh storms and times. "Indeed it is. Where do you suppose a good place to quarter at will be, for this season?" Silver asked, as the thought came in her head.

Yeah, we can't have long RPs all the time. I mean, it's hard to make half a page of writing when someone's just answering a question. XD *praises Rain's wisdom*
xx. Reminds me of you
Hawk paused, thinking of the different places that would suffice. If his instincts were right, the snowstorm could be strong, and it was best to play it safe anyways. After debating, he decided, "Maybe the grove next to the Hidden Falls?" He mused, there was that small cave next to it, if worst came to worse. He held back wincing, Feather had loved to go there with him.... His eyes grew distant, it was only a a little way from there where that dreadful fire had occured. He focused again, his eyes taking on the quality of hardness. He wouldn't let anything come in the way of his duties to his herd, not even that. Why couldn't he just leave the past alone? It taunted his every thought, peeking around every corner. Something in everything reminided him of them, the soft whisper of wind, the crunch of snow, the lark's song. He flicked his tail, watching Silver, making it look like he was paying full attention, when in reality it was only half.
"Give your mistress my greetings," he replied. "And tell her that the moon is new, that I can find only eleven months in the year, and that the sea is by no means full."
Not understanding the meaning of these words, the servant repeated them word for word to his mistress; and thus his theft was discovered, and he was punished. After a little while, the young man appeared with the old farmer. He was treated royally, as if he were the son of a great man, though the farmer knew nothing of his origins. In the course of the conversation, he told them everything---about the fish's laughter, his father's threatened execution, and his own exile--- and asked their advice about what he should do.
"The laughter of the fish," said the girl, "which seems to have been the cause of all this trouble, indicates that there is a man in the women's quarters of the palace, and the king doesn't know anything about it."
"Great! That's great!" exclaimed the wazir's son. "There's yet time for me to return and to save my father from a shameful and unjust death."
The following day he rushed back to his own country, taking with him the farmer's daughter. When he arrived, he ran to the palace and told his father what he had heard. The poor wazir, now almost dead from the expectation of death, was carried at once to the king in a palanquin. He repeated to the king what his son had said. "A man in the queen's quarters! Never!" said the king.
"But it must be so, Your Majesty," replied the wazir, "and to prove the truth of what I've just heard, I propose a test. Please call together all the female attendants in your palace and order them to jump over a large pit, specially dug for this purpose. The man will at once betray himself by the way he jumps."
The king had the pit dug and ordered all the female servants of the palace to try to jump over it. All of them tried, but only one succeeded. That one was found to be a man! Thus was the queen satisfied and the faithful old wazir saved.
